Dear Members of the TC,Dear Members of the TC,
It took some time to collect the necessary information, but now the TC program of the PQ07 is known.
At the moment our schedule looks like this:
Thursday 14 June evening 19u00: official opening, Industrial Palace
Friday 15 June 15u00 – 18u00: Business TC meeting, DAMU
Saturday 16 June 14u00 – 17u00: public program Technology Commission,
achitecture hall.
17u30: 40th anniversary of OISTAT, Scenofest Central Hall
Our public program will look like this:
After a short overview of the commissions past, present and future work, there will be a forum of Technical Directors starting the discussion from the question “What can a theatre expect from a scenographer?”
Whose responsibility is it to make sure the set fits in the theatre(s), is safe, is within the budget?
In what way does the designer direct the workshop, etc…
The forum will be seasoned with discussion with the public and funny and tragic anecdotes from the rich experience of the panel. The main title will be: “technical consequences of scenographic design”.
I can’t stress enough that this public program is very important to make the TC known to the global theatre community. That’s why I will ask your cooperation to make a short presentation of our working groups.
Future meetings:
Last month, I went to Cuba to meet with our member Jose Antonio Prades Hung. The result was an invitation from UNEAC to host the TC in October 2007. Due to the economic situation in Cuba, they can not grant local expenses, so the OISTAT can not accept this as an official invitation. However, if the TC member chooses to accept this invitation, for October 2007 or a later date, we can still go there. Personally, I’m reluctant to accept the invitation, as it will set a precedent for future meetings.
When you look at our task list (You can download the list as an excel file from the members only section of www.oistat.org/technology) you can see the deadline of the 1st of March has past.
We were supposed to collect risk assessment templates and costing forms.
Let’s put a few hours of our precious time in this.
Best Regards,
Ivo Kersmaekers
Chair Technology Commission
