The 8th OISTAT Theatre Architecture Competition (TAC) is an international ideas competition aimed at students and emerging practitioners, which is organised by OISTAT Architecture Committee to coincide with the Prague Quadrennial (PQ), the major international exhibition of scenography and theatre architecture in Prague. The next PQ will take place in June 2011, where selected competition entries will be exhibited and the prizes awarded in the main international Architecture Section of the PQ exhibition. Schools of architecture from around the world are invited to take part in the competition.
The Prague Quadrennial is the premier international showcase for scenography and theatre architecture and attracts theatre professionals from around the world. In last PQ (PQ’07), more than 76 countries, + 5,000 theatre professionals and more than 30,000 visitors came to celebrate this international event in the fields. PQ is not a trade show therefore the opportunities for advertising and sponsorship are extremely limited. Sponsorship of this competition for this reason offers a rare opportunity to organizations to achieve a high level of name recognition at this important event.
In previous competitions, more than than 3,500 people from 87 countries have visited the OISTAT website to view or download the brief. In 2007 there were 159 competition entries from 27 countries. The entries will be judged by an international jury of theatre architects and 25 of the best entries will be selected for exhibition in Prague and publication in a catalogue, which will be available for sale at PQ and will be distributed to OISTAT centres around the world. The best entries are also publicized on the internet and in the architectural and technical press worldwide. Prize winners are selected from this group and cash prizes are presented in Prague during PQ.
The cost of organizing the competition exceeds €35,000 and we are therefore asking you to consider offering sponsorship to support this important event. In return for which you will receive prominent publicity both at The Prague Quadrennial, in the catalogue and the subsequent publicity.

Silver Sponsors: €1,000 (unlimited)
Bronze Sponsors: €500 (unlimited)
Sponsorship slots in the Gold and Silver categories will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
If you agree to support us you will be asked to sign a mandate to confirm this, but funds will not be required until March 2011. In this way we hope you will be able to allocate funds in next years budget to support OISTAT Theatre Architecture Competition at a level appropriate to your organization.
