
The Education Commission is composed of teachers who wish to share their knowledge and information with other teachers, students and theater professionals from different theatrical cultures and around the world. The Commission facilitates exchanges of ideas and knowledge, teachers and students mobility, international networks between schools of scenography and theatre technology.
The Education Commission meets in different countries and presents lectures, workshops and seminars on scenography, lighting design and theatre technology related topics. Lecturers are OISTAT delegates and teachers from the host countries. These forums are open to wide audience and especially to students and teachers. The meetings also provide opportunities for the hosting countries to present their educational institutions internationally.

The commission organized presentations and activities for students at the PQ '99 where 37 presenters from 15 countries held sessions, gave presentations and participated in discussions with and for students. The Education Commission, led by the former chair Michael Ramsaur organized the Scenofest at the Prague PQ'03, which included over 125 presentations, workshops, tours, and performances to over 1000 students from over 200 schools from over 35 countries over 14 days of the PQ.
